Innovative Mobile Learning Approach through European Cultural Heritage

The European Cultural Heritage is a key tool as a didactic resource for education in several areas of knowledge and social values as it allows the development of new learning dynamics in the field of vocational training.

In this context, the FormArte+ project aims to test and validate a new learning approach based on the European Cultural Heritage. The project focuses on the Ways of St. James, as the first European cultural itinerary selected, being extensible to other touristic routes and other cultural heritages (tangible and intangible) of the 4 European countries participating in the project, with the triple objective of:

1st - Strengthen the acquisition of key competences in different professional branches through the Service-Learning methodology, linked to European Cultural Heritage.

Service-Learning is a methodology that integrates learning done through real experiences in the social environment, bringing knowledge, skills and values to students and direct benefits to society.

2nd - Acquire additional cultural, environmental and digital knowledge not included in the same curriculum of the Vocational Training specialities.

3rd - Defending social values through actions supporting the European strategy to combat climate change, based on the same professional knowledge acquired together with the valorisation of the European Cultural Heritage.

This innovative learning approach applied to vocational training aims, together with the acquisition of professional skills, to promote among young Europeans the valorisation of the European Cultural Heritage as well as the defence of social values, including the environment.
